MEIKLE TOIR

Brand details
MEIKLE TOIR is the first peated whiskey released by the Glen Alaki Distillery, and Master Blender Billy Walker, who acquired the Glen Alaki Distillery in 2017, produced peat concentrate for the first time in the distillery's history in 2018 to create a peated whiskey lineup.
After five years of maturation, at which point its special features are maximized, Mickletore will be introduced to the world in 2023. Billy Walker's goal is to carefully and exquisitely craft and mature single malt whiskey with exceptional peated flavor in its hometown of Speyside.MEIKLE TOIR is made from peat from mainland Scotland (St. Fergus), not peat from Islay Islaynd. Islay peat is made from decomposed wood and moss rather than grass or seaweed, which is a characteristic of Islay peat. It has a sweet, oaky scent that is different from coastal peat.
