FAR NIENTE

Brand details
Established in 1885, the winery was doomed due to Prohibition in 1919 but in 1979, the current owner, Gil Nickel, acquired and rebuilt the winery to the present day. During reconstruction work, the phrase “Dolce Far Niente” was discovered engraved on a stone on the front of the winery building, which was used as the winery’s name. This means ‘without any worries,’ and thanks to this, wine is popular as a gift. Co-owner Richard Stelling was so passionate about wine that he built the wine cellar into a cave, making Far Niente a winery with one of the most beautiful and functional underground caves in America today.
