GLENFARCLAS Distillery has the symbolism of being family-owned among single malt Scotch whiskey manufacturers. In the nearly 200 years since the Grant family began operating, the whiskey made from their impressive stock of old vintage casks has become increasingly collectible and they continue to create special editions. As one of the three major producers of sherry cask-matured whiskey, John L.S Grant, the 5th president, maintains many traditional practices, including direct fire heating, to obtain the highest quality sherry cask-matured whiskey possible. This determination, and the countless other difficult decisions the family made during a time of great hardship, led to true innovation and established Glenfarclas as one of the most attractive and collectible names in Scotch whisky.
